But if you’re like me, you probably gave up halfway because from the very beginning you have no system and to fix it takes too much time (or effort). That you gave that super cool looking dock and that software a bad name. “

This is exactly how I feel with my God (the use of “my” because He is a personal God).

I attend church (at times even running the risk of “playing” church), read the Bible, listen to Christian music, read Christian books.

Hoping to sync with God, having my contacts (relationships), messages (things I say), calendar (things I do) align with God’s will.

But truth be told, I never came close.

I read of pastors and great men of God waking up incredibly early to pray, to seek God. I never did them, but I always felt the guilt of not attempting.

I wanted to feel that great intimacy so often talked about, “feeling” the very heartbeat of God, having the same BPM as God.

Being in “Sync” with God in every area of their lives.

But it was always easier committed than done.

I’ve came to learn maybe I’m no Martin Luther, maybe waking up at 4am to pray is not for me. But still, He is MY God.

I’ve not came to a conclusion about how to exactly sync with God my way, but the guilt of not waking up early is needless.

Everyone can have his own way of sync-ing with God, as long as in the end of the day, the desire of God becomes personal.

Not because he is motivated by some charismatic speaker, but simply because God is so attractive that one wants to chase after Him relentlessly.

Knowing that God is chasing us relentlessly too.

Needless to say, I’ve been there countless times. Perhaps not in church, but when you’re out with your friends. Having a drink. Or being in class, supposedly listening to the lectures. But at times, my mind was far from where I was, I was busy pondering the “deep” things of life. What’s for lunch, how do I look and those other “important” life questions.

Too easy it is to get distracted; concentration is over said and under exercised.

There is also this school of thought about “living in the moment”. We get too caught up with the end and miss out on the journey; which often times teaches us more things than the success which only puffs up.

Being away from home has certainly made me realized how much of Malaysia that is home.

I follow the news in Malaysia more often than when I was back home. Guess this was partly because being in Malaysia, the news spread and you don’t have to search for it by yourself.

This has also taught me one thing, back in Malaysia, being a Christian was relatively easy. Get attached to a church and serve it. In church, you are fed with “Christian news”. Not that I do not attend a church here, but things are different.

Remember all those messages preached by your pastors about those quiet moments and they sound not anywhere near your heart.

But when you’re alone, all those “quiet moments” between you and God; as spoken by your pastors, becomes so real. The vision of God is not so much shaped by your home church, it starts to get personal. God becomes someone I seek, not as often as I should. But more often than I did.

Hey all,

Starting from now I’ll no longer use my photo blog or at least for now, forgotten my email account for it and it’s quite a hassle maintaining two blogs.

So I’ll just post my pictures here.

For those of you who have visited my blog to “hear my thoughts”, sorry to have disappointed you.

Kind of got lazy to write or have no inspiration for it.

I think some of my best writing inspiration comes when I go to bed, when all things are at rest and I take time to think and reflect.

But I’ll get so lazy to wake up and write those thoughts down; it’s almost given that you will forget it the next morning.

It’s getting more popular these days for people to have 2 monitors, for desktop that is normally.

But now Lenovo is pushing the boundary by having laptops with two monitor, for those into computing, engineering or graphics, this is a superb choice of a laptop. Albeit it weighs a whopping 11 pounds, 5kg for SI unit; and it costs about $3600 (US).
